THE PREPARATION OF MOROCCAN TEA In Morocco, one of the usual customs is the preparation of tea, which is also served to guests as a sign of welcome and hospitality. It is usually prepared and served in front of the guests. Water is boiled and green tea is added, this first water is thrown away to wash the tea and diminish its bitter taste, then fresh mint leaves are added taking them to the bottom of the container, since if they float and remain on top, they will take a bitter taste, which the Moroccans call “burnt tea”. The sugar is added in a proportion of 20 lumps per liter and is not mixed with a spoon. Whoever serves it, transfers the tea from its glass to a teapot several times, finally it is poured into the glasses from a certain height to make it foam. The foam when serving it, is considered of good omen, since it is associated with luck and fortune.

In the Middle Atlas, as well as in the Ziz Valley and in the Rif region, certain canons of beauty have been developed in the Berber culture and not always coinciding with the Arab culture.
Since ancient times, the Berbers take care of their personal grooming with natural products that are within their reach, such as argan oil to take care of their hair softening it; and for the skin, rose water and ghasul (a kind of clay) to give radiance to the skin and henna to color the hair and tattoo hands and feet.
Feminine elegance in Berber women acquires its maximum appeal with other accessories such as tattooing drawings in the form of geometric signs to decorate the face and arms.
The symbolism of these tattoos varies according to the regions, in some cases they serve to distinguish the different tribes, or in others, to show that a girl has reached the age of puberty.

The origin of the Turkish bath dates back to the Roman civilization, at that time it was a place of social gathering that took place in this place of relaxation.
In Morocco there are them in all the public cities and in the private ones a session can cost approximately €25.
There you can enjoy a body treatment or a steam bath.
It is also a custom used in pre-marriage rituals, where the bride will spend the day with her friends celebrating as a bachelorette party.
These establishments may have pools of cold, warm or hot water, steam rooms and other massage rooms with aromatic oils.
Among its benefits we can cite the increase of oxygenation in the lungs, helps decongestion and relieves cough.
Toxins are released and the heat accelerates metabolic functions producing a feeling of general well-being.
Very beneficial for the hair, as the moist heat decontaminates the scalp, making it healthier and softer. The massages are usually done on a marble platform and the masseurs are of the same sex as the clients.
You can also purchase products to complement the service, such as hair clay and handmade soaps.
The atmosphere is pleasant and calm, with relaxing music to make it not only comfortable for the body, but also for the mind.
