8 Days Tour From Tangier To Fez And End In Marrakech

The 8 days Morocco tour from Tangier to the imperial cities and desert of Morocco, including Fez, Atlas Mountains and Merzouga desert with camel trekking. This tour includes also the visit of Fossils in Erfoud, Kasbahs in Ouarzazate and film studios, tourist sites in Marrakech, guided city tour.

Day 1 : Tangier – Tetouan – Chaouen

Pick up at the port or airport of Tangier, and from there we will depart to Tetouan, and then we will visit the city of chaouen, we will walk through its streets and old houses of blue and white, panoramic visit, have dinner and accommodation.

Day 2: Chaouen-Ruinas Romanas-Meknes-Fez

Breakfast and departure to Fez, bordering the Rif forest, we will see the Roman Ruins of Volubilis, then we will go to Meknes, visit its Palace and the Famous Gate of Bab Mansour, Dar El Mara and the Granon, we will arrive to Fez.Dinner and OvernightS the afternoon it is time to visit the historical sites of Medina, such as Bab el Mansour, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later we head to Fez, where we will spend the night.

Day 3 : Fez (Guided Tour).

At 8:00 am, after breakfast, we will start our guided tour of the medina. The medina of Fez, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, is one of the largest walled cities in the world. It was founded in 790 AD. We will discover and walk through the narrow streets full of stores with fresh fruit, a variety of spices, Berber carpets and many other objects of Moroccan art. We will visit the Royal Palace, the tanners, the potters and also the oldest university in the world, created before Oxford and the Sorbonne. We will have lunch in the center of the medina, in a typical restaurant. After lunch we complete the visit of the medina and return to your hotel around 16:00hs.

Day 4 : Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert.

Breakfast, we will leave towards the Middle Atlas, we will visit Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”, then we will pass through Azrou, La Roca, Berber village, there we will see monkeys and we will have lunch, we will continue our way to Midelt, by the road of Tizi Talghem at 1907 meters of altitude. We will arrive to Errachidia, we will pass by Tafilalet, until the palm grove of Erfoud direction to the desert of Merzouga, there we will take the camels that will take us to the heart of the desert, dinner and overnight in Berber tents.

Day 5 : Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Valley of the Roses – Skara palm grove – Ouarzazate.

Breakfast and departure to the Palm grove of Rissani and Jarf located on the banks of the Oued Ziz, then to the Ksar of Touroug then pass through Tinejdad and arrive at the Todra Gorges, after lunch walk and then go to the Valley of the Roses, arrive at Quarzazate, where we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, (Residence of the Pacha of Marrakech).

Day 6 : Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tahonet – Marrakech.

Breakfast we will go to Marrakech, through the port of Tizi.N Yichka (2206 meters), we will visit the famous kasbach of Ait Bem Haddou, declared World Heritage Site by Unesco.then we will follow route to Marrakech, visit the Palace of “El pacha Glaroui” we will pass through the port of Tichka and arrive in Marrakech.dinner and overnight.

Day 7 : Marrakech

Breakfast and visit the city of Marrakech and visit the Jemaa El Fna Square where there are snake charmers, musicians, storytellers, pythonesses. We will also visit the Medersa Ben Yussafi, the Mehara, the Dar Museum, Si Said, the garden of the Agdad, the Saadian Tombs and the Badi and Bahia Palaces. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8 : Marrakech

1st day : Arrival to Tangier – Chefchaouen

In the first day of your 13-day Absolute Morocco tour. We pick you up from your accommodation, the airport or the port in Tangier “the bride of the north”. The city is located northwest where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Spartel. Firstly, we will explore the beautiful city, and visit the cave of Hercules and the Cape Spartel. Free time for lunch. After that we drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through the city of Tetouan and the Rif mountains. Stops will be made along the way for panoramic views. 2nd day : Sightseeing Chefchaouen the blue city

After breakfast, the 13 day tour continues to explore Chefchaouen the blue city. Also known as Achaoun, which means horns in Berber. The city is located in the Rif mountains northwest Morocco. It is famous for its buildings and alleyways painted in blue and white. We will stroll in its charming old Medina, which has so many beautiful authentic blue doors. Free time for lunch. Finally you can hike to the Spanish mosque, located on a high ground. Where you can see the spectacular view of the whole blue city. Overnight stay in the same hotel.

3rd day : Chefchaouen – the Roman ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, feel free to wander in the beautiful alleyways of the blue city Chefchaouen. Then we drive to visit the ancient Roman ruins Volubilis. It is well preserved, as it is recognized as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. It has many beautiful mosaics scattered here and there. Along with beautiful ancient pillars and archways. After strolling in the ruins, we drive 30 km to visit one of the imperial cities, Meknes the Ismaili capital. In which we visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we head to Fes. Overnight stay in a riad

4th day : Guided Tour Sightseeing Fes

We pick you from your accommodation after breakfast, to explore the city of Fes. The city is considered one of the imperial cities, besides being the cultural and religious center of Morocco.

We start the day by visiting the Royal Palace gate. Then the well preserved medieval Medina, that is listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. The Blue gate or Bab Boujloud is the entrance of the old Medina. You will enter the Medina with a local guide. To visit The Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries. And finally the Quaraouin mosque and university – The oldest university in the world. After that we leave the Medina to visit the Jewish quarter “the Mellah”. Then we drive to an ancient fortress, for panoramic views of the Medina and the city of Fes. Then return to your Riad.

5th day : Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest- Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Sahara

After breakfast, the 13-day Absolute Morocco tour continues south through Imouzzer. To visit Ifrane, famous for its low temperature, snow and also the alpine-style architecture houses. No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Then we continue to cedars forest, where the Barbary macaques lives. Feel free to feed them while wandering in the forest. Later, we continue to Midelt, where we will have a free time for lunch. Then we drive through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass, and along the Ziz valley, with stops for panoramic views.

In the afternoon we reach the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Where you switch to camels to cross the sandy desert, then a stop will be made to enjoy the sunset. After that you continue to the camp which is a combination between the traditional tents of nomads and the luxury a hotel has. Where you can enjoy the Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire, under vast open sky of stars.

6th day : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove

After breakfast, we dedicate the day to explore the region of Merzouga. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossils areas, to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities. We start our journey in Merzouga, by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit in their handmade woven tent. And learn how they live while drinking a Berber tea.

Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you can enjoy the Gnaoua music and dancing performances. Its inhabitants are originating from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that we take a stroll in palm trees grove. Then drive a few kilometres to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called the lake of flamingos. Finally, return to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight In a hotel.

7th day : Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early in the morning is a must do, in order to contemplate the beautiful sunrise. Free time for breakfast. Then we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani still a major trading center in the region. With a large souk lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. After a stroll in Rissani souk. Thereafter, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble.

Then we drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of Todra river has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains. This high red cliff-sided canyon is an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. 8th day : Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we continue our trip to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose valley. A Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where the locals offer their rose products, from perfumes, rose water, oil, to cosmetic products. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura and visit the Kasbah of Amredhyle. Then we reach Ouarzazate, where we visit the studios in which famous movies were shot. And also visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.

9th day : Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, we depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy…etc. And TV series including Game Of Thrones. After that we visit the Telouet Kasbah. Then we continue to Marrakesh by going through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch, and to take pictures at interesting spots. Finally, we reach Marrakech. Overnight stay in a Riad.

10th day : Guided tour sightseeing Marrakech

After a warm breakfast, we will be exploring the Highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The city is considered one of the imperial cities in Morocco. The visit includes : the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. And stroll in the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Free time for lunch near the Jemaa El-Fna square. 11th day : Marrakech – Essaouira

12th day : Essaouira – Casablanca

13th day : Sightseeing Rabat the capital – Tangier airport

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Rabat

Day 7: Ouarzazate_ Oasis Fint _ Ouarzazate

We will go to Oasis Fint at Daraa Valley to have lunch, it is such a beautiful place bounded by palm trees and natural water sources, and after that, we will drive to Ouarzazate again to spend the night.

Day 8: Ouarzazate _ Skoura _ Kalaat M’gouna_ Boumalne Dades

We will drive to Dades valley after breakfast, to spend the night in a riad or hotel there, while visiting Taourirt Kasbah, Skoura Oasis (palm trees and Kasbahs), and The Valley of Roses in our pathway.

Day 9: Boulmane Dades _ Todra Gorges _ Merzouga

After breakfast, we will go to Merzouga, where we are going to spend the night while having a short walk and visiting around Dades Gorges, and Todra Gorges.

Day 10: Merzouga _ Erg Chebbi _ Merzouga

You will enjoy a day trip to the Sahara Desert, by visiting Merzouga oases, nomadic lands, Khamlia Village ( to listen to nomad folklore music), to have lunch, and share a cup of Moroccan tea mint with a nomad family, then we will go to the hotel to have a shower and get prepared to stay the night in the Berber yurts.

Day 11: Merzouga _ Erfoud _ Ziz Valley _ Midelt

We will ride the Camels, at an early hour in the morning, to the top of the dunes, to enjoy the wonderful view of the sun rising and take memorable photos. We will have breakfast, and get ready to go to Midelt, where we are going to spend the night in a hotel there. Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen

Day 5: Merzouga – Dades Valley

We will ride the camels toward the hotel to have a refreshing shower, and breakfast, before driving to Dades valley, where we are going to spend the night, passing by Saghro mountains, and Todra Gorges.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Marrakech

Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chaouen

The first day of this Morocco tour in 5 days is dedicated to discovering the main attractions of the north of the country. Upon arrival in Tangier, the staff of our agency will pick you up at the port or at the airport in a private vehicle to start the route. Depending on the arrival time of the plane or ferry, the itinerary could make its first stop in Tetouan, a city declared World Heritage Site and full of attractions. Among them, its white historical medina and the Spanish influence are still visible in its streets, as it was the capital of the Spanish Protectorate in the first half of the 20th century.

In the afternoon you will arrive in Chaouen or Chefchaouen, also called ‘the blue city’ for the wonderful appearance of its historic center, full of houses painted in this color. You will freely visit the picturesque narrow streets of the medina and you will reach viewpoints with spectacular panoramic views, from where you can see the crowded urban center of the town and the mountainous environment of the Rif. In the evening you will rest in a charming riad located in the medina.

Day 2: Chaouen – Fez

After breakfast at the riad in Chaouen, our express tour of Morocco in 5 days takes us to Fez. We will arrive in this city after a road trip that will leave behind the mountains and forests of the Rif, to end in this city declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco thanks to its history and beauty.

And therefore, we will spend the rest of the day to know its attractions, with the help of an official guide. His visit will lead us through the most important places, many of them in the medina and its surroundings. One of them may be the Al-Karaouine Mosque, which houses the medersa of the same name and is one of the oldest educational institutions of Islam. Or the Nejjarine square, with its famous Fountain. Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert Dunes

After breakfast, which is included in the riad in Fez, we will head south to reach the Sahara desert. On the way, there will be landscapes and places of great interest, where we can stop to take pictures and get to know some of its charms.

One of these first stops may be Ifrane, known as the ‘Moroccan Switzerland’ for its striking gabled buildings: in winter it is covered with snow, as it is located at 1,713 meters above sea level, in the middle of the Middle Atlas. The landscape has already become greener and wooded, as we can see for ourselves in the Cedar National Park, located between this town and Azrou, which is also called the Monkey Park because of the large population of Barbary monkeys, in danger of extinction.

Crossing the Middle Atlas, we will cross the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, already in the desert and famous for its wealth of fossils and marble quarries. And soon after we will arrive at the last town, Merzouga, where we will climb aboard another means of transport: the dromedaries (replaceable by 4×4). On the back of these animals, we will reach the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi. In this golden sea, the light of the sunset reaches a unique magical color.

The camel ride concludes in our tents camp, located in the heart of the desert. A Berber tea will be waiting for us as a welcoming gesture. Here you will have dinner and rest for the night in a traditional Berber tent. All this under a starry sky of unparalleled brilliance.

Day 4: Merzouga desert dunes – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

In this circuit of Morocco in 5 days, the fourth day lends itself to getting up early: watching the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi is a unique spectacle. After that and after breakfast at the camp, we will climb back on the backs of camels to return to the town of Merzouga. There will also be time for a shower (at the camp or in a hotel, depending on the package contracted).

From Merzouga, we will continue our road trip by private vehicle. The first stop will be Rissani, a desert town that still maintains an interesting traditional life, visible in its medina, its market, and its donkey parking. From here we will head to the Dades Valley and its surroundings, and the road will bring us some special surprises. For example, the Todra Gorges is a rocky canyon with natural walls that reach 200 meters in some points.

Along the road, some palm groves dot the landscape, in ‘competition’ with the Berber fortresses made of adobe: this announces that we are on the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs. And we will be lucky enough to visit one on this day: Taourirt, in Ouarzazate, a city known as the Hollywood of Morocco for its film studios.

After visiting the aforementioned Taourirt Kasbah, with its traditional Berber architecture (adobe, ceramics, wood, etc.), we will spend the night in a hotel in Ouarzazate, where dinner is also included.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Breakfast on the fifth day will give us the strength to complete the final leg of this circuit of Morocco in 5 days. The first stop on the route will be a few kilometers from Ouarzazate: the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village in good condition. In addition to maintaining intact its traditional Berber charm, it was declared a World Heritage Site for its high historical and artistic value. Game of Thrones fans will recognize it because scenes from the third season of the series were filmed here.

After visiting this ksar, we will return to the road, this time with the objective of crossing the High Atlas through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, at about 2,260 meters above sea level. On the ascent and descent, there will be a succession of panoramic views and typical villages perched on the slopes, inviting to be captured by a camera.

From here, we are only about 100 km away from Marrakech, the final destination of this day and of this circuit of Morocco in 5 days. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a free afternoon and a night in a charming riad, located in the medina.
