3 Day Desert Tour From Errachidia To Marrakech
Tour overview
On this 3-day, 2-night tour, you will explore the desert region. You’ll visit nomads in their tents, enjoy Gnaoua music and a traditional dance performance by the Khamlia people. In addition, you’ll visit an old kohl mine and the wildlife lake of Merzouga, located a few kilometers from the town.
You will also stroll through a palm grove, ride a camel, and admire the magical sunset and sunrise over the sand dunes. One night will be spent in a camp in the heart of the Sahara Desert. Afterwards, we will visit the Todra Gorges and the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. We will then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The tour ends in Marrakech.

Day 1
Arrival in Errachidia – Merzouga
On the first day of your desert and Marrakech tour, we will pick you up from Errachidia Airport and head south toward the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. We’ll have dinner and stay overnight in Merzouga.
Day 2
Exploración de Merzouga – Nómadas – Khamlia (pueblo Gnaoua) – Lago de Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Palmerales
After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring the Merzouga region, known for its stunning landscapes, including sand dunes, natural lakes, ancient mines, fossil sites, and beautiful oases—perfect for various outdoor activities.
We begin our off-road adventure with a visit to an old kohl mine. Then, we’ll visit nomadic families living in hand-woven wool tents, where you’ll learn about their traditional lifestyle while enjoying a glass of Berber tea.
Next, we’ll head to the village of Khamlia, where you’ll experience live Gnaoua music and dance performances. The residents of this village originally came from sub-Saharan African countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. There will be free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we’ll take a walk through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake—also known as the Lake of Flamingos. Later, you’ll ride a camel across the golden dunes, stopping atop one of the highest to admire the magical sunset before continuing to a luxury desert camp. There, you’ll enjoy Berber drum music and dancing around the campfire under a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Day 3
Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Valley of the Roses – Skoura Palm Grove – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
Waking up early to witness the spectacular sunrise in the heart of the desert is a must. After breakfast, you will return by camel to Merzouga, where our driver will be waiting for you.
We will then leave the desert and travel west, passing through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach the impressive Todra Gorges. Here, the Todra River has carved out a majestic canyon with towering red cliffs.
We continue the journey through several kasbahs and lush palm groves until we reach Ouarzazate, where you will have free time for lunch.
Afterward, we’ll head to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This kasbah has also appeared in many films, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as in TV series like Game of Thrones.
Finally, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the majestic High Atlas Mountains to arrive in Marrakech, where we will drop you off at either the airport or your accommodation.
This Will be the end of the 3-day desert tour.
