Day 1
Arrival in Errachidia – Merzouga
Upon arrival at Errachidia airport, we will pick you up and drive south to the Merzouga desert. . We’ll have dinner and stay overnight in Merzouga.
Day 2
Merzouga Exploration – Nomads – Khamlia Village – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove
After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring the Merzouga region, an area filled with natural wonders such as sand dunes, a seasonal lake, ancient mines, fossils, and beautiful oases.
We will begin with an off-road visit to an old kohl mine. Then, we will visit nomadic families in their traditional tents to learn about their way of life while enjoying a cup of Berber tea. Later, we will head to the village of Khamlia to experience Gnaoua music and traditional dances. The people of this village are originally from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will take a walk through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake, also known as the “Lake of Flamingos.”
In the afternoon, we will ride camels across the desert to a luxury camp nestled in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will stop at a high dune to admire the sunset. At the camp, a magical night awaits, with Berber drum music around the campfire under a star-filled sky. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Day 3
Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After breakfast, we will depart for Rissani, the former capital of the Tafilalet region. Its bustling souk remains an important commercial center, especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
After a tour of the Rissani market, we will continue to Erfoud to visit a fossilized marble workshop. Then, we will pass through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad on our way to the stunning Todra Gorges, where the river has carved deep canyons with reddish cliffs—an ideal spot for rock climbing enthusiasts. There will be free time to explore the area and have lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will head toward the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we will stop to admire the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and enjoy panoramic views from a scenic lookout point. We’ll have dinner and stay overnight in a hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 4
Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura Palm Groves – Ouarzazate – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
On the last day of the tour, we will travel to Kalaat M’Gouna to visit the Valley of the Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. Here, you can find a variety of rose-based products, such as perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics.
We will continue our journey through the lush palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert. There, we will visit the film studios where many famous movies have been filmed.
Next, we will head to the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village has served as a backdrop for films such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and TV shows like Game of Thrones.
Finally, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and to take photos at scenic viewpoints. We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon, where we will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport.
