Day 1
Fez – Meknes – Volubilis ruins – Chefchaouen
The 7-day tour starts with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fez. From there, we head to Meknes, known as the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. We’ll visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
You’ll have some free time for lunch before we continue our journey. Next, we drive about 30 km from Meknes to explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This impressive site is very well preserved and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see beautiful mosaics scattered around, along with ancient pillars and archways.
After strolling through the ruins, we head north via Ouazzane to reach Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, also known as the Blue City. This charming place is famous for its blue-painted buildings and alleyways. Finally, we’ll spend the night in a Riad/hotel.
Day 2
Chefchaouen – Rabat the capital
After breakfast, feel free to wander around the Blue City. Then we’ll drive to Rabat through the Rif Mountains. Rabat is one of Morocco’s imperial cities and its current capital it’s located in the northwest of the country along the Atlantic coast.
You will visit the city’s main highlights, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. We’ll spend the night in a Riad/hotel.
Day 3
Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech
Once you’ve finished breakfast, we’ll leave Rabat and drive along the coastline to Casablanca. This city is Morocco’s economic hub and its largest metropolis. First, we’ll visit the Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in Africa. Then, we’ll explore the Casablanca Corniche.
Finally, we’ll head inland to Marrakech, the Red City and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. You’ll have time to explore the famous Jemaa El-Fna square. We will spend the night in a hotel or Riad.
Day 4
Guided tour sightseeing Marrakech
After breakfast, we will explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The visit includes the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque. You’ll also stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco.
There will be free time for lunch near Jemaa El-Fna square. Later, you’ll visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Garden. Finally, you will be transferred to your accommodation. Feel free to wander around Jemaa El-Fna on your own.
Day 5
Marrakech – High Atlas mountains- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate
We pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech early in the morning. Then, we drive through the fascinating High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. Afterward, we visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Kasbah has also appeared in many movies, including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and TV series like Game of Thrones. We’ll have lunch at a local restaurant in the area. Then, we head to “The Gate of the Desert,” Ouarzazate, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 6
Ouarzazate- Rose valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud -Merzouga Sahara – Overnight in a luxury camp
When you’ve finished breakfast, we’ll pick you up to visit one of the film studios where various movies were shot. We then continue to the Rose Valley, which hosts an annual Rose Festival in May, where locals showcase their rose products.
Next, we visit the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved out a canyon with high red cliffs through the mountains. Feel free to wander through the gorges and take in the beauty of the landscape.
We then continue our journey through Touroug, Tinjdad, and Erfoud before reaching the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will switch to camels to cross the sandy dunes, with a stop on top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset.
Afterwards, we continue to the camp, where you can enjoy Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under a vast open sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight stay at the desert camp.
Day 7
Merzouga Sahara–Rissani – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedars forest – Ifrane – Fez
In the last day of the 7 days tour. You wake up early morning to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast, then you return on camels to Merzouga where the driver awaits.
Then we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani still a major trading center in the region, with a large souk lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. After a stroll in Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble.
After that, we drive along the Ziz River and stop for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. There will be free time for lunch in Midelt. Then, we continue to the cedar forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them while wandering through the forest.
Afterwards, we visit Ifrane, famous for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style houses – no wonder it’s called the Switzerland of Morocco. Finally, we will drop you off at the airport or your accommodation in Fez.
